I may as well just face facts, given my schedule and my access to WiFi this will be a random, hopefully monthly blog read by a select lucky few. Also there aren't always enough things going on that deserve comment. I was fortunate enough to locate a parking lot last night that had the holy trinity of features. A Staples, a Panera, and no signs banning trucks. As I am without trailer currently it makes it slightly less obvious, but I do believe I'm the only one taking up 5 spaces out there right now.
It has been quite the productive parking lot for me and I have been able to put a dent in my ever growing pile of stuff to download from Audible.com. Audible has officially replaced Amazon used books as my source for literary crack. They have the 2 credit a month annual package, but I opted for the 24 credits at once and seem to have burned through all but 5 of them in under 4 weeks. I can happily say that as soon as I finish the monumental task of attending to each individual episode I will have all 12 years of This American Life (NPR Joy!) As I frantically juggle the downloading I can't help but think that the shows will sound a wee bit better considering I'm in the broadcast range of WBEZ. The Force of Ira Glass is thick in the air.
I was able to spend the Summer Solstice back home in Ohiopyle, an event which also coincided with beer and gear fest and a general homecoming of all the weekend part timers. I guess I'm in the part timer category now myself, and there was a bit of confusion as I asked people what the recent events of the Pyle were, only to find out they too were in town for the first time in months. My time at home was all too short and of course I didn't attend to all the errands I needed to. After all who cares if my vehicle inspection is up when it's sitting in storage. Unfortunately I will need to schedule an extra day for all this crap when I go home in August.
I have no major observations to report at this time, the few I have will just have to wait till next month. Off to Nebraska.... (oh whoopty shit)
